The owners of a Zen Wellness Center envisioned building a tranquil retreat nestled in the mountains surrounding Lake Pleasant. To bring their vision to life, ownership engaged NewGrid with the task of designing, engineering, permitting, and constructing a fully off-grid solar PV system, ensuring the center’s energy needs were met with the capability to expand in the future.

Project Details

Two wellness-focused entrepreneurs, who own and license Martial Arts, Zen Yoga, and Zen Wellness Centers, envisioned creating a secluded retreat to host seminars and certifications for students. In 2022, they began acquiring parcels of land about three miles from the renowned Castle Hot Springs resort on the shores of Lake Pleasant. Their long-term plan is to develop the parcels one by one, ultimately creating an expansive retreat with numerous outbuildings, capable of hosting a variety of seminars and retreats simultaneously.

NewGrid was tasked with designing, engineering, and building the off-grid power system for the newly constructed facility. The Center officially opened in June 2024 and has been welcoming guests regularly ever since. Ownership has since partnered with NewGrid to develop off-grid PV systems for the neighboring parcels, with construction set to begin in 2025.
