About NewGrid Power

NewGrid has engineered, procured, and constructed power and water utility services for over 1000 remote properties around the southwestern United States; as far north as Alaska and as far south as Panama.  Among the property profiles served are residential customers, commercial entities, municipalities, and telecommunications companies, to name a few.  Ongoing operations and maintenance is managed through communications to each site through a proprietary internet connectivity protocol.  Critical uptime requirements for municipal, federal, aviation, and state agencies include 99% uptime service contracts that are all managed from our engineering offices.  NewGrid self-performs all facets of the process from initial development up to and including the ongoing service of remote sites built over 30 years ago.

President - Will Herndon

Will earned a BS in Engineering from University of the Pacific in 1992 and has over 30 years experience in the photovoltaics industry. His career started in the early 90’s at Photocomm, the leading Off-Grid firm at the time, performing  sales, design, engineering and construction.

Will later worked as an engineer at Kyocera Solar, the global multinational solar panel manufacturer.   This baseline experience was further bolstered by several years of intense focus on solar direct water pumping applications along with the purchase of SunPumps, the leading solar water pumping company at the time.

In 2000 he co-founded American Solar Electric with continued focus on Off-Grid PV system sales/design/engineering, and construction and built that firm organically to a peak of $30M in annual revenues; overseeing the transition into grid tie construction.  He successfully sold American Solar Electric in 2014..

In that same year he founded NewGrid, Inc. to focus exclusively on Off-Grid PV systems full time once again.  Now in its 10th year of profitable operations Will continues to lead NewGrids charge into Off-Grid power systems as the Executive VP of Engineering.

Vice President - Taylor Lupardo

Taylor graduated from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management in 2010 with a degree in Business Economics, where he was recognized as one of the Eller Top 100 Graduating Seniors. After graduation Taylor embarked on a career in management consulting, working with Fortune 500 companies in the fields of oil and gas and securities litigation.

In 2018, fueled by a passion for renewable energy, Taylor made a bold career shift to the solar industry. Since 2020, Taylor has led day-to-day operations at NewGrid where his hands-on involvement in sales, engineering, and project management has seen NewGrid double year-over-year revenues in 2022.
