Overview
Vulture City Ranch, a serene 40-acre property near the historic Vulture City mining ghost town, needed a power solution that matched its unique charm and operational demands. With a legacy of unreliable energy systems, the site required a complete overhaul to support its growing operations and prepare for use as a vacation rental destination.
The Challenge
The ranch’s existing system was a patchwork of outdated equipment, including a 10-year-old lead-acid battery bank, a Sunny Island inverter, and a decades-old 200kW generator inherited from a mining site. The disjointed setup demanded frequent manual adjustments and often fell short of meeting the property’s power needs. A prior attempt to upgrade the system failed, leaving the site underpowered and unable to sustain its energy demands.
The Solution
NewGrid stepped in to design and implement a comprehensive off-grid power system tailored to the ranch’s requirements. By integrating Sol-Ark® 12K-2P hybrid inverters with a robust Pytes lithium battery bank, NewGrid delivered a seamless energy solution. The new system efficiently handles the property’s diverse loads while incorporating the existing 200kW generator into a unified electrical setup, ensuring backup power reliability.
The Results
The revamped power system has transformed Vulture City Ranch, providing dependable energy for the sprawling facilities and paving the way for a thriving vacation rental business. With stable power secured, the property is now welcoming its first guests, offering them stunning desert views and easy access to the nearby historic ghost town.
In addition, NewGrid is collaborating with local authorities to expand power solutions to nearby camping sites while maintaining a focus on minimizing generator noise and preserving the tranquil environment.
