Homesteaded in the late 1800s outside Young, Arizona — thirty miles of dirt road in either direction — this ranch ran on generators until 2006, then on a small solar system sized for ranch workers. As the property grew into a dude-ranch lodge and guest operation, demand left the old system far behind.

NewGrid rebuilt the electrical room, generators, and switchgear in 2016 and upgraded the battery bank, then tripled the solar and added new power processing in 2020. The plant now runs 30 kW of solar, a 240 kWh Crown battery bank, and 21 kW of Schneider inverters.

The system carries 200 kWh a day — ten times the 2006 load — powering a lodge with a commercial kitchen, 12 guests, and four air-conditioned outbuildings without generator support.
