The challenge

An exclusive lodge, a forty-minute flight from anywhere.

A forty-minute bush-plane ride from Anchorage, this five-star heli-ski and fishing lodge ran on generators, then on a lead-acid battery system installed in 2015 that demanded constant maintenance and replacements. When it began failing, the guest calendar didn't pause.

What we built

A new system built for the backcountry.

Brought in by a fellow contractor, NewGrid designed the replacement sight unseen — working from a handful of photos and the equipment shelter's dimensions — and mobilized to the lake in under a month. The rebuilt system runs on 200 kWh of supercapacitor storage and 42 kW of Schneider inverters.
