The challenge

A landmark that draws crowds, far from the grid.

Horseshoe Bend went from a dirt lot to more than two million visitors a year on the strength of social media. In 2019 the City of Page and the National Park Service rebuilt the site — new parking, fee facilities, pathways to the overlook — and needed power with no utility line in reach.

What we built

A system for the whole visitor site.

NewGrid designed and installed the off-grid system that carried the visitor center, parking facilities, and overlook without a generator: 20 kW of solar, 110 kWh of industrial VRLA storage, and 21 kW of Schneider inverters.
