The challenge

A permanent residence on 160 remote acres.

The owner of this 160-acre parcel wanted a year-round residence with a private motocross track, guest houses, and well water — miles from the nearest neighbor. The utility quoted a prohibitive connection cost and a two-year wait.

What we built

Designed here, built here, installed on site.

NewGrid designed the power system in 2019, built the containerized plant at our Phoenix construction yard, and installed it on site that December. Batteries, solar, and power processing were expanded in stages through 2022 as the property grew.

System specs
  • 25 kW solar
  • 100 kWh Discover AES lithium battery
  • 42 kW Schneider inverters
  • Dual 50 kW propane generators
  • 277/480V three phase
The outcome

Ranch, residence, and track on one system.

The system runs the residence and a grass-fed cattle operation at three-phase industrial voltage, with headroom for the next phase of build-out.
