The challenge

A getaway 40 miles past the grid.

Built as a log-cabin retreat in the late 1990s and abandoned mid-project, this property 40 miles past Globe sat neglected until a new ownership group picked it up in 2021 to finish the original idea: an off-grid escape with the comforts of the city.

What we built

A right-sized system for the property.

NewGrid designed, engineered, and installed the new power system in under a month: 10 kW of solar, a 36 kWh Fortress battery, and a 7 kW Schneider inverter.

System specs
  • 10 kW solar
  • 36 kWh Fortress lithium battery
  • 7 kW Schneider inverter
  • 14 kW propane generator
  • 120/240V split phase

The outcome

A getaway that runs on the sun.

Hunters and vacationers have cycled through ever since, with the generator mostly idle.
