Project Details

Built in 1996, this residence boasted some of the first commercially available off-grid solar equipment. Considered cutting-edge at the time, the original system was limited to powering lights operating small appliances. Given the power system’s limited application, the property failed to entice as a sought-after vacation destination for its initial owners. After languishing in disuse for years, the estate changed hands, falling into the possession of a new group determined to refurbish it for modern use.

NewGrid was commissioned to comprehensively overhaul the existing power infrastructure, replacing outdated components with state-of-the-art equipment and integrating solar panels capable of sustaining heated floors and accommodating much heavier energy demands. The result is a transformed retreat, now utilized by the new owners as a luxurious hunting lodge, complete with all the creature comforts reminiscent of city living.
