The challenge

Temporary equipment that needed a permanent home.

Solar trailers get sold as complete power systems. This customer bought one in 2020 to power a residence between Phoenix and Payson and learned the hard way: not enough solar, not enough battery.

What we built

A permanent equipment room from a trailer's parts.

Rather than write the investment off, NewGrid salvaged the usable components into a permanent plant — a new equipment shelter, battery bank, and solar array, with the trailer's gear repurposed where it earned its place.

System specs
  • 8 kW solar
  • 60 kWh industrial flooded lead-acid battery
  • 12 kW Sunny Island inverter
  • 12 kW propane generator
  • 120/240V split phase
The outcome

New life for an expansive residence.

The property has run off-grid since January 2021 with minimal generator time. Our standing advice held: there is no one-size-fits-all in off-grid.
