The challenge
A remote residence with a working business inside it.
New owners took over this 160-acre Sierra homestead in 2021 planning to live in the timber-frame lodge full-time and run their catering business from it. The existing system couldn't carry the water pumping, let alone a commercial kitchen — and they wanted it replaced in six weeks.
What we built
One system for home and business.
NewGrid designed, engineered, and built the new system ahead of that deadline: 12 kW of solar, 42.4 kWh of Discover lithium storage, 13 kW of Schneider inverters, and twin 14 kW propane generators.
