Solar-powered water pumping system
SOLAR WATER PUMPING

Move water where the grid can't reach.

NewGrid designs and builds solar water pumping systems for ranches, farms, and remote operations, sized to your well, your herd, and your acreage. No power line. No diesel bill. Water that shows up when the site needs it.

WATER, NOT JUST POWER

Pumping water is its own engineering problem.

Moving water off-grid isn't the same job as powering a house. Lift, flow rate, well depth, storage, and how far the water has to travel all change the system. A pump sized for a garden won't fill stock tanks for a hundred head of cattle, and a system built for a home won't hold up to a pump that cycles hard all summer.

We've been designing solar water systems since direct pumping was still a novelty. If your site needs water moved, whether to troughs, to crops, to a storage tank, or across a whole ranch, that's a system we've built before.

HOW IT'S DONE

Two ways to move water off-grid.

There's more than one right answer. The one that fits depends on when your site needs water and how much.

THE CLASSIC APPROACH

Solar-direct pumping.

The solar array powers the pump motor straight from the panels while the sun is up. You store water in a tank instead of storing electricity in a battery. Fewer parts, less to maintain, and nothing to replace every ten years.

BEST WHEN
you're filling storage and the site can pump during daylight. Stock water, irrigation, tank fill.
PART OF THE POWER SYSTEM

Battery-integrated pumping.

The pump runs off the same solar-and-storage system that powers the rest of the site, so it can move water on demand — day, night, or under cloud. Pressure and flow stay constant regardless of the sun.

BEST WHEN
pumping can't wait for daylight, or water and site power are one operation. Homes, lodges, pressurized systems.

On most sites we combine both. We'll tell you which your water actually needs before we quote it.

WHERE THIS COMES FROM

We were pumping water with sunlight before it was mainstream.

NewGrid's president spent years focused specifically on solar direct water pumping and owned SunPumps, one of the leading names in the field. That heritage runs through every water system we build. Moving water is where this company started.

  • One firm for power and water.

We engineer and self-perform both, so the pump and the power system are designed to work as one system, instead of bolted together by two contractors who never spoke.

  • Built for the way ranches actually run.

Diesel replacement, seasonal load swings, hard-cycling pumps, remote wells miles from anything. We design to the site in front of us.

  • Serviced for the long haul.

Remote sites go quiet when something breaks and nobody's watching. We monitor and service what we build, including systems we didn't.

HOW A WATER SYSTEM COMES TOGETHER

From well to working, one team.

  1. 01
    Assess
We measure your water demand, well depth, lift, and how far the water travels.
  2. 02
    Design & Engineer
Full electrical and hydraulic design, in-house, sized to your real loads.
  3. 03
    Permit
We handle the jurisdiction and utility paperwork.
  4. 04
    Build
Our own crews set the pump, array, storage, and controls.
  5. 05
    Operate & Maintain
Monitoring and service so a remote pump never sits dead.
